PERUVIAN GASTRONOMY: JUNIN SEVEN GASTRONOMIC WONDERS AIM TO PROMOTE TOURISM

Junin Seven Gastronomic Wonders aim to promote tourism:
Huancayo, Dec. 04 (ANDINA). Traditional dish Cordero al palo, with 1,552 votes, won the contest which elected Junin's Seven Gastronomic Wonders, event organized by the Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Dircetur) that aims to promote the varied culinary options that Junin offers.

According to the voters’ preferences, pachamanca ranked second with 1,506 votes, followed by patasca de mondongo with 1,256, papa a la huancaina with 1077, lechon with 1,056 and cuy Colorado with 845.

Furthermore, dulce de caya and cebiche de trucha were tied in seventh place with 767 votes each.

Results were announced yesterday at Real Plaza mall, where attendees were able to taste the winning dishes after the awarding ceremony.

In addition, the ceremony included the presentation of different typical dances such as Huaconada de Mito, recently added to Unesco’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
