NASA : The Ice Fields of Patagonia .- Los campos de hielo de la Patagonia

Hola amigos: A VUELO DE UN QUINDE EL BLOG., Esta imagen tomada 14 de enero de 2015, adquirida por la operativa Land Imager (OLI) del Landsat 8, muestra los glaciares de Tierra de Sangre, cuarto estrato volcán de hielo que abarcan la frontera de Chile y Argentina. La nieve y el hielo son de color azul en estas imágenes en falso color, que utilizan diferentes longitudes de onda para diferenciar mejor las áreas de hielo, roca y vegetación.
Desde el final de la Pequeña Edad de Hielo, los campos de hielo de la Patagonia y otras partes de América del Sur se han ido reduciendo las temperaturas globales han aumentado. Un número de estudios han investigado estos cambios, que pueden afectar a las comunidades aguas abajo que dependen de los glaciares para un suministro de agua constante.

This image taken Jan. 14, 2015, acquired by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on Landsat 8, shows the glaciers of Sierra de Sangra, an icy stratovolcano spanning the border of Chile and Argentina. Snow and ice are blue in these false-color images, which use different wavelengths to better differentiate areas of ice, rock, and vegetation.

Since the end of the Little Ice Age, the ice fields of Patagonia and other parts of South America have been shrinking as global temperatures have increased. A number of studies have investigated these changes, which can affect the communities downstream that rely on the glaciers for a steady water supply.
